New Board Games

Our latest obsession has been board games. We've always loved to play them: Monopoly, Yahtzee, Sequence, etc. But, there is a whole world of board games out there that is not just the ones at Walmart and Target. Barnes and Noble, Half Price Books, and Amazon have become our friends when looking for the latest and greatest games.

Takenoko (pictured above) is about the gift of a panda from the Emperor of China to the Emperor of Japan. The Gardner is trying to grow a beautiful bamboo forest of various colors to be both beautiful and feed the panda while the panda is constantly eating all the bamboo. You earn points by growing certain colors of bamboo, laying tiles in certain colors, or feeding the panda.

If that isn't challenging enough, we also have an expansion that introduces a second (female) panda and whenever the pandas land on the same tile together....  baby pandas appear!
