After a LONG, unavoidable meeting at school. We had dinner at P. F. Chang's and dessert from Crumbl Cookies.
One of my favorite things to do for my birthday is to visit a local zoo. This year we went to the Dallas Zoo while Mom was visiting. We even bumped into a few former students while we were there.

I love it when Mom gets to visit and the bluebonnets are in bloom. She looked like a kid while she was looking for seeds to sneak home.
Jeremy and I ended our work week with dinner at a cute all day brunch place in Plano. It was so good, we will definitely be going again.
Our team receiving their medals for making to the regional competition. We started as over 360 teams in the North Texas area. Today we are competing as 60 teams. Only 2 teams will advance. #1 goes to "World competition" in Houston, TX and #2 goes to "National Competition" in Fayetteville, AR.
Coaches and Mentors got medals, too!
*We did not advance, but we had an amazing day!!
Immediately after the FLL Regionals Competition, we headed over to the SEF Gala (SEF=Sunnyvale Education Foundation). It was a great time with live music and jugglers. We were able to raise over $100,000.00 for the district and one of Jeremy's wood pieces started a bit of a bidding war!!
Unlike how "Teacher of the Year" is run at the other districts we have worked for, here it is nominated and voted on by the teachers only at each school. Unfortunately, Jeremy was not selected as "Teacher of the Year" this year, but MANY of the parents stopped by to tell him, that to them, HE WAS. Maybe next time - third time's a charm.
Thanks to Instagram we found a great little Japanese cafe with a Shiba Inu (dog) theme in Richardson, TX. We got to sit at the traditional floor tables and have traditional Japanese cuisine. What a great place!!
A storm brought sleet to the area and shut down all the after school activities for the day and we forgot our ice scrapper!! Shout out to our Superintendent, who was quick to start scrapping all the cars in the teacher parking lot.
Getting dressed for our LEGO competition...
Our team did a great job and had a wonderful day. They went home with the "Robot Design Award" and will be moving on to Regionals next month!
We got to meet a bunch of other local teams. I even got to see the team from my old school, Dooley Elementary and got a quick snap with the mascot, Spike.
