We took quite a walk (Siri's fault) to go to the local shopping spots, La Villita and Market Square. Lots of shops and lots of fun!

At the time, Jeremy's little brother swore he saw a deer in the cave and still maintains the story to this day. So, before we entered we texted him with a picture of the caverns with the caption: "going deer hunting". When the tour finishes and the offical commemorative photo was taken - we couldn't help ourselves. We sent this photo with "sorry to say, but the native cave deer population has gone extinct".

I (uncharacteristically) walked up to him, complemented his set up, and asked him what he was up to. It turns out, he is from Tulsa's Fox 23 doing a story on OSU going to the Alamo Bowl and hoping to talk to some OSU fans. The conversation went something like: "Are you an OSU fan?" "No, but I have just the people for you." At which point I began motioning wildly to get Ron and Debbie to come talk to him. They interviewed each of them for several minutes! They even made the news that evening!

We once drove by it when I was a kid, but there was such a line we had to move on. I have now been inside the Alamo. (The edifice marking an event of great historical significance to Texas that I had to study every year in school while I was growing up near Dallas.) Even bought a small sterling silver charm for my charm bracelet.
