Happy Halloween and Where's Waldo?

10/31/2017

Picture
Another party in Downtown Garland. We took turns taking pictures of each other hiding in the crowds and sending them to our friends and family. Hee Hee!

*The characters are Waldo and Wenda from the "Where's Waldo?" book series

Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

10/28/2017

A pre-Halloween movie in the local (old-fashioned theatre). The show reminded me of the times when my father and I would listen to their radio programs with my grandfather,   What a fun way to kick off this holiday!

Rockin' the Square @ Historic Downtown Garland

10/21/2017

Picture
A big party to celebrate Downtown garland's listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The party kicked off with opening performances by "The Mullet Boyz" followed by fireworks and a concert by "OSMR" (Old Southern Moonshine Revival). A fabulous event and an incredible time!

Rolled Ice Cream

10/6/2017

My phone glitched out very badly during the last update. It has been frozen on the update screen for two days. I haven't be able to take it in to be serviced until today due to after school programs and events. Since we were at the mall anyway, we decided to find out what the food court had to offer.

Rolled Ice Cream! Fascinating!  I had seen it before in internet videos, but never in my own experience.

The Texas State Fair

10/1/2017

Picture
My first time back at the fair since I was little.  It has been nearly 30 years for me and Jeremy's first time ever.  Say 'hello' to Big Tex!  What a great day! I even ran into one of my best friends from elementary school at the ferris wheel.

Riding the DART Train

10/1/2017

Picture
One of the best parts about living downtown is the DART system (Dallas Area Rapid Transit).  We used the trains to go directly from our apartment to the fairgrounds and not have to find a parking spot or pay for parking.
