How to play board games with a dog? Easy! Take off two hippos from the "Hungry, Hungry Hippos" game and add mini dog treats. Fun for the whole family!
Each 9 weeks, I host a gameshow-like assembly for our school called the Little Raider Rally. Through out the year, these assemblies are used to celebrate accomplishments and give out awards.
This is the beginning of the year assembly to introduce all of the staff members to the kids. I asked one of our new friends from the Admin building to help co-host and the high school drum line to "drum up" excitement.
Each school prepares a skit to show their school spirt and the current year's theme: "Reunite and Reignite".
*Jeremy had the idea to practice his science teacher based "fire-breathing" skills to use in their show, but they decided to play it safe and go with a boy band dance instead. This is all the men form Jeremy's school dancing to the original choreography of "Bye Bye Bye" by NSYNC to finish out their show.
My school went to an escape room as part of our professional development/beginning of the year bonding. We solved the last puzzle just as the last second ran out and the door opened anyway. So... did we win? Or not?
Jeremy and I were able to go the "Immersive Van Gogh" exhibit in Dallas. Our original tickets were postponed by 6 weeks due to the pandemic, but we were finally able go! The exhibit was an amazing display of his works melding into one another set to music. I also got the book which explains each scene and why they chose the pieces they did. It was a very compelling read.
I wore a "Starry Night" dress and Jeremy wore a "Starry Night" tie and socks. We received many compliments form the staff and the patrons. I even picked up two magnets and a "Starry Night" teddy bear from the gift shop.
I hope the producers/directors of this will do the same to others artists in the future.
To kick off the upcoming school year on a positive note, the district hosted "Rowdy's Reunion" complete with carnival games and sign up booths for clubs. I signed up over a dozen kids for my "Sunny Singers" -an after school music class that puts on a musical each semester. Sign ups will continue for the next two weeks. I am hoping for 25 members.
Daisy loves playing with the neighbors. We bought her a large pool from Costco today, set it up, and invited the neighbor dogs over for a pool party. She loves splashing in the water, tossing the water toys around, rolling in the grass, and then doing the whole process all over again for well over an hour. (The other dogs got tired and went home after 20 minutes.)
We got to hang out with Jeremy's parents again this weekend. This time we worked together on a puzzle we started on our anniversary earlier in the week.
