Mom drove down from Arkansas and we spent the day with Granddad for Father's Day! We each brought our Oculus VR systems and got him to try virtual reality.
*See more pics under "Our Pictures". We got the opportunity to spend a few days with the Stouts during their vacation. We were able to play games (including the 'Noodle Challenge' from "adventure Challenge: Family Edition")... go to lunch with Jared and do a driving tour of some of his built homes... visit with Grandma Stout through her window... and go to the Oklahoma City Zoo!
*See more pics under "Our Pictures" Before we had to head back to Texas, Hunter got to dance with a virtual robot!! The view on the phone is what she is seeing. The robot copies the wearer's movements so they can dance together.
*See more pics under "Our Pictures". Mom has joined the Virtual Reality world with her own Oculus VR. Time for a family field trip: exploring the oceans, the International Space Station, and checking out the recent Space X launch.
To celebrate Donnie and Jessie's wedding anniversary, we gathered at Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma for a crawdad boil. Donnie has been catching dozens of pounds of crawdads for multiple boils this summer. It was GREAT!!
*See more pics under "Our Pictures". Because Jeremy's birthday falls at the tail end of the summer, he gets his gifts at the beginning of the summer to get the most use of them. Even though he already got the new Oculus VR this year (full disclosure - so did I for my birthday), it's also time for a drone upgrade!
Time for another "Adventure Challenge: Couples Edition". Today's challenge involved tie dying shirts. We had such a blast we did two each and bought more dye to do it again with the family at the lake next weekend!
*See more pics under "Our Pictures". I made some pins and ribbons in support of the Black Lives Matter movement in our area. Jeremy and I placed several of the pins in the local park across the street where a peaceful gathering took place. I was even able to share a few with my sister, Mahri, on her way through town as she was driving back to Los Angeles!
*See more pics under "Our Pictures". Our first (masked and socially distanced) date outside the house in a few months. We checked out the new bowling lanes and movie theater center, "Strike + REEL". It was a great time and fun way to be outside of apartment!!
We are using the "Adventure Challenge: Couples Edition" book for at home dates during this stay-at-home order. Our first adventure is "The Hapless Baker". The one with the least baking experience prepares a pie blindfolded while the one with the most experience verbally steps them through the process. *Blindfold can be removed after the preparation - no putting things in the oven while blind!! (Although we chose a coconut cream pie - no heat required.)
