We were asked to bring our photography equipment and Jeremy's drone to cover the fireworks display at tonight's celebration! The concert features local talent from the church congregation opening for the "Texas Country Boys". It was a great evening with friends.
Jeremy and I have backed an online project called the Peanut Ukulele. We ordered two electric peanut ukes and the first of them arrived in the mail today! This is going to be fun for jamming in our house with out disturbing the neighbors.
I have been out of cards for a couple for a months. I have been making cards like a crazy person since I got out of school. Today I crossed the 100 cards mark!
Nothing like a lazy day by the lake! Jeremy took his paddle board out on Lake Sam Rayburn and I sat under a tree and read 3/4 of a book.
Mom bought tickets to CRYSTAL as a combination for my birthday and for Father's Day. Mom, Jeremy and I, Granddad, and his friend, Bea, all attended the show. It was fantastic!
Time for another concert on the square. We enjoyed some old-fashioned rock-n-roll, board games, and fireworks. Always a great time downtown (outside our front door).
On their way back form a wedding, Jerad and Emily, Melissa and Chase, and the babies, came through Garland for lunch at Intrinsic BBQ and a quick visit.
To celebrate Donnie and Jessie's 6th anniversary, we headed out to Beaver Lake (Garfield, AR) near where they were married. We had a great time fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and paddle boarding.

Granddad checked into the hospital on Sunday night.
By the time Mom arrived, he was asking for Krispie Kreme donuts to give out to the nurses who were helping him.
His surgery was delayed by other more pressing surgeries so he was even allowed to have a doughnut! The next day his surgery was finally completed and without complication. A new stent was inserted and many new medications ordered.
UPDATE: Over the next few days, he had to go back to the ER with low heart rate twice. He now seems to be doing well since then.
School has officially ended for the school year and our summer has begun as of today! It seems to be a tradition to begin our summer adventures with a Texas day trip with Jeremy's parents. This year we visited Canton's famous flea market. Best finds: new hat, white kimono with gold and purple flowers, kettle corn, and Sasquatch.
