Each year in China, the people use a variety of techniques to scare away the bad luck that has accumulated over the previous year. One such tradition involves the Dragon Dance - a large costume or puppet that people carry through the street. Mom made a dragon costume for my classroom in January 2003. This marks the 14th year of the tradition of scaring away all the bad luck in the music room. Thanks, Mom!
It is time to change my hallway bulletin board. It has been a rough year all around, so I decided to remind the kids how wonderful they are - not just in the music room, but everywhere, everyday. I spent my planning time walking around the school with my camera to get a glimpse of their daily life. I love seeing how many people stop by and look.
Jeremy and I made this adorable tent for this little cutie for her 7th birthday last May. It was so heartwarming to see it pop up on Facebook today.
Thanks for the Christmas money! I spent mine on tickets to Cirque's OVO in Loveland, CO. I have been waiting for years to go see this show! Fantastic! Highly recommended. The soundtrack is fabulous, as well. I will be listening to this on repeat for days.
It was our first chance to hang out with the whole Davis family and close friends, plus we were able to celebrate Harriet's 80th birthday and Jim and Harriet's 60th wedding anniversary!
